2026 Analyzed: A Tale of Two Cities

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times". The first line of Dickens famous novel A Tale of Two Cities contrasted London and Paris. The church however needs to consider the 2600 year war between Babylon and Jerusalem. A tale of two cities that will determine if 2026 will be the best of times or the worst of times.

The Dickens novel of the two cities of the title are London and Paris, set against the turbulence of the French Revolution. London stands for relative stability and law; Paris for upheaval, vengeance, and political fever. Dickens keeps bouncing the reader between them to show how closely order and chaos can resemble each other when you squint at history.

We have a tendency in the church to squint at God's prophetic history instead of the long view. When the church has squinted at their time in history there always seems to be an "end times", with every era an Antichrist for every era. Over a period of 2600 years we get a better picture.

2600 years ago there was an epic struggle between Babylon and Jerusalem in 604 BC. In 68 AD John the apostle is writing his Revelation and the battle between Jerusalem and Babylon is still happening. I suggest to you in 2026 it is still a tale of two cities at war; Babylon the Great and New Jerusalem.

It is the beginning of a new year and the blogosphere will be filled with political and economic projections for the year ahead. The evangelical prophetic podcasters will be alive with "Thus saith the Lord".

If you squint at all the noise you will be confused. You need to extract the "signal from the noise". You need to tune in to the long war. Scripture gives you a template by way of imagery that holds for thousands of years:

Babylon the Gate of the Gods
The word "Babylon" comes from the ancient Akkadian language - "bab-ilum" meaning "bab" - Gate and "ilum" meaning gods. Babylon wasn’t just any city; it was imagined as a cosmic gate, where divine order and human affairs met. The name reinforced Babylon’s role as a religious, political, and symbolic center of the ancient world.

Jerusalem/Zion
Jacob was running away from danger alone and discouraged. He goes to sleep one night with a rock for a pillow. He sees a dream vision. A ladder to heaven with angels coming up and down. God speaks to him : You will have a multitude of descendants and they will bless the nations. Jacob calls the place 'Bethel" the house of God "the gate of heaven".

When king David brought the ark of the covenant with the tabernacle and priests into "the city of David", Jerusalem became "Zion" the City of God, the House of God.

The war between the gates of hell/Babylon and Zion/Jerusalem has been ongoing ever since.

In Matthew 16:18 Jesus said "I will build my church (ekklesia, Zion)) and the gates of hell (Babylon) will not prevail against it." He made the outcome of this millennial fight certain. The church, the house of God, His Zion/Jerusalem is being built all around the world. And wherever the construction is taking place it opens the gates of heaven so that angelic hosts can move in and out of heaven and earth to establish the Kingdom of God on earth.

While this is going on evil forces are enticing human agents to open the gates between this realm and the spirit realm- Babylon - so demonic forces can enter and control human affairs.

Now here is the problem we are facing in the church. Most of the most dynamic of the saints of God in our time believe in actual fact the gates of hell (Babylon) will prevail.
They believe Satanic forces in the form of Antichrist will gather all the nations into a one world government. That this evil world government will control the world with a world currency so that nobody can buy or sell without using this currency or being part of this system.

As for the triumphant church? That ladder between heaven and earth is the gate for escape in the Rapture out of earth and into heaven to escape this Antichrist One World government.

To confirm this "end times" scenario there is a need to always rejoice in bad news as just another sign of the times. So they look for bad news as the good news of the end times, time to leave earth to Israel to battle with Babylon and the Antichrist.

It is why they must "stand with Israel" because Israel are God's end time army to take on the Antichrist. We are out of here, good luck Israel, we the church lost this battle with Babylon, hope you guys do better.

The problem with Babylon and its gods.
We overestimate Satan and his gods. They are hated and despised from ancient times.
Here is what a great Roman writer Tacitus who lived at the height of the Roman empire wrote. He quoted the great Roman poet Lucan who was also one of Nero's victims. Lucan wrote in one of his poems about the gods of Rome and Greece, that "considering the most serious calamities of life one has proof that not towards our security are the gods solicitous, but of our punishment”.

The common Romans or Greeks or Assyrians or Persians....all antiquity all realized after all their sacrifices and worship and service to the "gods", these gods cared nothing for them the common people.

Today we have new gods where mortals have opened new gates for the ancient gods. In socialist nations the state is the god who will take care of you.. In the world of money and finance capitalism the corporation and money will take care of you.

The faith in the modern gods of Babylon are failing.

People dont trust government or politicians. The socialist state is visibly failing in the most socialist states of the European Union. The EU economies are falling apart. People are waking up.

The whole idea of a one world government is never going to happen...unless it is the Kingdom of God. The world is dividing up in blocs of interest and differing nationalities and spheres of interest. There is no one world government.

The capitalist model of endless growth through money creation through debt creation, that Ponzi scheme is unravelling everywhere. There is no one world money system. We have already entered the world of private money creation, public ledgers and block chain encryption. Governments and the big banks are losing control of people an their money. The people can now make their own money and their own trading systems.

AI and the internet is allowing the sins of the elite overlords to be shouted from the rooftops. As Jesus said all that is done in secret will be exposed. Note the desperate attempt by the elite to stop the Epstein files coming out. It won't work.

And then there are some really bad things that will come with the internet and AI,
And we will overcome that evil as well.

Neither will the "stand with Israel" deception last much longer in the church. Paul's statement in Romans 9:6 "Not all Israel is Israel" will finally be resolved. We will soon see if not all Israel is Israel then who is the real Israel, who are the people who will bless all nations of earth as promised to Abraham and Jacob? I beleive 2026 will finally answer that question.

There are a lot of bad things going to happen in 2026. I will comment on them.

But I will comment them on bad or good for Babylon or Jerusalem?

There are a lot of bad things that will happen and you will hear Wow another sign of the end times. And I will say no another sign that Babylon is falling to make room for the Kingdom to grow in their place.

There will be a lot of wonderful things happen this year as revival and the gospel message penetrates into all the world. Then there will be wonderful things happening in technology and business and the arts and science that I will say great more tools for the Kingdom, more wealth transfer for the Kingdom

It all depends on your interpretation of the Tale of Two Cities.

But to encourage you let me tell you how we defeated the despised gods of Rome/Babylon as a church by 325 AD.

We told the common people of Rome yes you have a right to feel despised and used by the gods of Olympus. But let me tell you the real truth.

"God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son Jesus who died for your sins and rose from the grave so that you can have God as your heavenly father and you too who believe in Christ will also rise in the resurrection for eternal life"

That was good news to the downtrodden of the Roman empire. It is still the good news today that will win the hearts of the down trodden masses of the world who have been abused and abandoned by the political and financial elite.

It is the love revolution of the City of God that will defeat the money and political revolutions of Babylon.
